Holiday shopping at The Block

Theblock

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Centered around the Rowan Hotel and Palm Springs Art Museum in downtown Palm Springs, The Block offers residents an array of shopping and dining spaces to take holiday shopping to the next level.

With a revitalized area and attractive art pieces, The Block aims to provide the community with a space to socialize and spend their time while supporting local businesses.

Shopping

For trendy women’s clothing, community members may find themselves checking out items at Blonde or Francesca’s. These two boutique clothing stores offer dresses, jewelry, shoes and unique gifts for yourself or the women in your life.

Pairing well with the newly purchased styles, customers may find themselves indulging in the range of products offered at Mac Cosmetics and Sephora or upping their skincare routine with Kiel’s collection of premium skincare products.

Likewise, Johnny Was welcomes customers to an array of vintage inspired fabrics and Free People sets the scene for Bohemian fashion.

To close out the shopping trip, community members may visit H&M for sustainable fashion options or head on down to West Elm for unique modern furniture and home decor options. Or browse Havianas for new shoe selections.

Art

As customers walk around The Block, they are greeted by a vast collection of public art, including The Babies art installation, the Unity mural, the infamous 26-foot tall Marilyn Monroe statue and the 3D “PS I Love You” sign perfect for a photo-op.

You can also stop by the nearby Palm Springs Art Musuem and check out their large variety of interesting, unique exhibits featuring a plethora of different mediums and styles.

Food and Drink

For a quick bite to eat amid your holiday shopping trip, The Block has a large open-air plaza where shoppers can sit down and enjoy a drink from the nearby Starbucks Reserve. Across the street, Juniper Table serves Southern California cuisine with Mediterranean flavors.

Sitting between the two food options, II Corso offers a variety of authentic Italian cuisine with fresh salads and desserts. The Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar north on Palm Canyon and Museum Way presents a large outdoor patio to cool down with a cocktail and light eats and Hause of Poke on Museum way brings Hawaiian cuisine to Palm Springs.

Down near the art museum, Stout Burgers & Beer, a newer addition to the area, serves pub classics alongside a collection of artisanal beers. For a quick and casual meal, Blaze Pizza’s fast-fired pizzas is another option along with something sweet at Lolli and Pops.

Other options include On the Mark, High Bar and the 4 Saints Steakhouse.

The Rowan

To close out the night, the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel within The Block offers 153 guest rooms and suites to rest from a heavy day of holiday shopping.
