ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The Desert Magazine has a long history of showing the beauty and culture of the Coachella Valley to those who visit here and those who live here.  There are many that put countless hours into shaping this brand into something that created pride about what it is to live and be part of the Desert Community.  It is a time of change for many, including the Desert Magazine.  It is humbling at this point that I take over as the Publisher of this magazine that will now be run by our business solutions brand, Localiq.  While there will most certainly be some collaboration with the Desert Sun, we have set off on a new path for the Desert Magazine.

In full transparency, we wanted to create a Lifestyle Magazine where one can read about local events, local business profiles, community involvement and philanthropy.  I think it’s clear, that’s just not where we are right now.  Instead, we landed on a few key themes that likely hit home for many in the community:

Hope and Resiliency

The Desert Magazine will cover how the local community is working together to make Coachella Valley stronger.  How businesses are making changes and adapting to our “new normal.”  How the tireless work of those philanthropic groups are making positive changes to those affected by this crisis.  How new businesses are finding roots in the valley and adapting to what growth looks like in 2021.  How the determined work of the few are making positive impacts on the many.

The future is bright for Coachella Valley and we look forward to sharing the stories of those that are making a positive impact here.  We are truly better together and we at the Desert Magazine look forward to sharing how our community and businesses come together to prove why the Coachella Valley is a special place.
