Pawshion Show:
Guess Who’s Putting on the Dog?
Pawshion Week Palm Springs – always innovative with pooch puns – will unleash haute canine couture and charisma on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event is produced and directed by Metropolitan Fashion Week, and is sure to get tails wagging and fashionistas panting.
The program – hosted in a fabulously chic mid-century modern home – includes mimosas, hors d'oeuvres, and delectable desserts. It features a one-of-a-kind dog fashion show and a curated art showcase. Twenty percent of all artwork sales goes toward supporting Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies (formerly known as Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter). The non-profit organization is a venerated local institution dedicated to the care and rehoming of animals in need.
Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies is a valuable asset to the Coachella Valley. It encompasses three distinct branches and provides programs for animals, pets, and pet owners. The newly opened Desert Wildlife Center in Indio offers a refuge and rehab facility for orphaned, sick, and injured wildlife. The Desert Community Animal Center, located in Desert Hot Springs, is an affordable veterinary clinic that provides much-needed care for the Coachella Valley’s creatures. And the Palm Springs Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter for cats and dogs in the area.
Tickets for the Pawshion Show are available for $150 each plus fees. Metropolitan Fashion Week is the longest running fashion week on the West Coast, with events in Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, Caracas, and – soon – Mexico City. The event is held in unique locations, and the chosen venues are part of the show and experience. Featured collections are often avant garde and include couture gowns. The event celebrates fashion and costume designers.
At this year’s Pawshion Show, 15 chic canines will strut their stuff and emit paw-sitive energy to support fellow animals. The event will celebrate our four-legged friends and fashion in mid-century modern style. Organizers request that guests do not bring their own pets to the event to ensure safety for the models.
The official venue address will be shared with ticket holders five days prior to the event, and free street parking will be available. So, primp, prance, and participate to help support the well-being of our desert animal allies.
